When I type a url in the address bar and hit enter, it no longer goes to that site. (have to use the reload button at the end of the bar.)
It isn't the reload button. It is actually the green arrow that says Go to address in the location bar. Regardless, the issue is the same, when I finish typing and hit Enter, it does nothing.

Start Firefox in Use Troubleshoot Mode in Firefox to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
