In the newest version of Firefox I am trying to enable java script and cannot find "Tools" to go to "Options" to go to "Web Features." What can I do to activate javascripts for facebook etc. ?

Click the Firefox button, then Options | Options | Content.
You can also press the ALT key to toggle the text links on and off and use the Tools | Options etc., route.
Your issue can be caused by an extension that isn't working properly.
Start Firefox in Use Troubleshoot Mode in Firefox to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
