I just transferred Thunderbird to new laptop. emails are still there but not contacts. Can I retrieve somehow?
My single line above says it all really. I'm very happy not to have lost any emails, but the fact the contact lists didn't transfer also is a bit of a pain. I realise I can create new ones from my emails but that will take quite a while and I might have lost some people along the way. Hope there's a simple fix

Normally, if you transfer a profile, all contents in the profile transfer, so it's possible your transfer was not for the full profile.. If you have access to the old PC, the files you want are these two:: abook.sqlite and history.sqlite. If you're comfortable with windows file explorer you can simply copy from the old computler and paste into the new computer. Here are steps:
- click help>troubleshootinginformation on old PC
- scroll to 'profile folder' and click 'open folder
- exit thunderbird, you are now in profile
- copy abook.sqlite and history.sqlite to external media
- on new pc, repeat the first three steps above
- now, you are in profile of new PC, paste the two copied files here
- restart thunderbird
Thanks David for your swift reply, which is much appreciated. Unfortunately, I don't have the old laptop, which I reset before selling. So I think I may have lost all the contact details, unless there's a cloud somewhere I can access them.
Your only possibility might be if you copied the old profile to the wrong place and remnants are still there somewhere on your PC.
