I rather doubt the veracity of this, seeing it includes “I can see the full list of your contacts from your phone and all your social networks” — since I do not access the Internet from any telephone.

It has been several years since I’ve received something of this sort, so have remained confident that my system(s) remain well-protected. However, since the message did arrive in one of my email accounts, is there still the potential of my contacts list(s) being compromised, and, if so, how to safeguard against that?

It's bogus. I get similar messages maybe once every month or two.

There is very little chance that your local contact list has been broken into, though it's not impossible, of course. There's a greater chance that an online contact list such as Google Contacts has been hacked, and even that's unlikely.

If your contacts have been stolen, there's nothing you can do about it now except to make sure your computer and online accounts are as secure as possible. If you have any doubt, it wouldn't be a bad idea to give your computers a thorough malware scan and change all your passwords.
