Hi, Since my email was updated(thunderbird) when I want to start a new email message when I push 'new email' the new message page pops up. Every thing is there except the send button and the encrypt button is faded out and not operational. I cannot send or forward an existing email that has come in. I can only reply to an email. I have not changed any settings at all and this problem is both on my desk top and lap top as both have Thunderbird email. This problem just recently happened I think from the latest update

I have checked port settings and nothing has changed at all. I really hope someone is able to help. I am not a computor wizz kid. Help needed please. Thanks if you can help

If you add the recipient in the "To" field, then the "Send" button should become clickable.

Hi, Thanks for your advice but it doesn't alter the problem. The send button is still faded out.

Start Thunderbird in Troubleshoot Mode and see whether the problem happens there as well. The following article explains how to do that and why it can be useful to help identify the cause of a problem:

Hi david, I have managed to sort out. I retyped server settings and reset. desk top working now. I noticed my laptop was not on the same setting. reset everything to pop3 settngs and outgoing server settings. It is now working but when changing from imap to pop3 all my emails/ folders have gone on my laptop. bloody frustrating
