i just want to change my password please

noelene

i am rather slow on computer matters, when i bought the computer, there was a password already loaded, that is when i first open it, but i understand it is necessary to have a separate password for email. I can open the email address ok, but just cant find the right place to change the email password, any thoughts on this will be welcomed, thanking you in anticipation

thank you matt, i warned you i am very thick when it comes to computers, my initial query was regarding changing my email password, i have followed the steps you showed, but even reading through all the options, i still dont understand when i create the new password. thanking you in anticipation, EL THICKO

Let me be clear.... you do not create a new password in Thunderbird. All it does is record your password and use it on your behalf to get mail.

So the password your trying to change is administered by your mail provider, whether that be Comcast, British telecom or Google. It is from their web pages you change your password, and then when Thunderbird tells you the password is has is not valid you type in the new one and click the save option.

Clear as Mud :)
