Outgoing emails stopped sending months ago.
About 6 months ago T-bird stopped sending outgoing messages. Each time I typed even a test message to send to myself, it rejected. Everything else works. I have defaulted to my Comcast email client which is not as friendly as T-bird. T-bird is up to date and none of my settings for outgoing mail was changed. Why won't my mail all of the sudden not process? What do I need to do? Thanks in advance.
Message I get when mail is sent below:
Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail: Outgoing server (SMTP) error. The server responded: resomta-a2p-647141.sys.comcast.net resomta-a2p-647141.sys.comcast.net ESMTP server not available (396356/151.247.189.217).

Here is a sample comcast setup. How does it compare to yours?
IMAP (Incoming): Incoming Server Type: IMAP Mail Server Incoming Server Name: imap.comcast.net Port: 993 User Name: <my email address> Connection Security: SSL/TLS Authentication method: OAuth2
SMTP (Outgoing): SMTP Server Name: smtp.comcast.net Port: 465 Connection Security: SSL/TLS Authentication method: OAuth2 User Name: <my email address>
What are your Comcast server settings? Here are my working SMTP ones. How do they compare with yours?
SMTP (Outgoing): SMTP Server Name: smtp.comcast.net Port: 465 Connection Security: SSL/TLS Authentication method: OAuth2 User Name: <my email address>
It seems that about a year ago, Xfinity silently implemented OAuth2 as an authentication option, but didn't bother to tell anybody. I think the old, less-secure "Normal Password" method still works.

My results on outgoing read identical:
Description: Comcast Server Type: SMTP Outgoing Server Server Name: smtp.comcast.net Port: 465 User Name: djb-sab@comcast.net Authentication method: OAuth2 Connection Security: SSL/TLS
When I test the server, I get this message: Successfully established a secure connection to smtp.comcast.net:465.
Do you have multiple Comcast accounts set up in Thunderbird?
Make sure that cookies are allowed in Thunderbird (see <Settings | Privacy & Security | Web Content "Accept cookies from sites">, then restart Thunderbird.
If that doesn't help right away, it might help to delete any existing passwords and OAuth tokens from Saved Passwords (see <Settings | Privacy & Security | Passwords | Saved Passwords>.) You will be prompted for your credentials again next time you start Thunderbird, and hopefully they will be accepted.
