
Since ver 142, I cannot receive any mail in the normal inbox. I can find it by going to "trouble shooting mode", but that's it. Any ideas?

Are you using add-ons?
I use few. Not any added since the vew version.
Add-ons are a common reason why something works in troubleshooting mode that does not work otherwise. Maybe an add-on is not compatible with your version.
Try running Thunderbird in normal mode with add-ons selectively disabled.
What I also find interesting. it that the normal inbox still ccounts the correct number of new ones, it just doesn't show them.
Ok, i disabled alll of the add-ons, and problem is still there. (I closed and retarted it as well.)
Repair your inbox folder: right click, "Properties", "Repair folder". Do more messages appear?

Yes, repaired the folder. Yes repaired the folder. Yes, using default theme. Yes, turned off acceleration. So, looks like I got them!

I do have that, but the ad-on was turned off and I saw no changes.

I do appreciate your help, Rick! It's too bad that none of this solved the problem. I guess that, since the problem still exists after an uninstall/reinstall, the problem must exist in the portion saved on my computer - the personal info, etc. But, it seems that a lot of what you had me try would ev=ffect that. So, who knows? Maybe you're right and someone else has the right bright idea! Thanks again for the help. Dick
Just one last thing: it's not clear that you disabled anti-virus because you referred to an add-on instead. You could try starting Windows in safe mode with networking and see if you get your messages.
OK, one more thing that has been troubling me: you said that you do not receive messages in the "normal" inbox. What is the "normal" inbox? Do you receive them somewhere else?
Wasn't sure what to call it, but I meant the inbox that comes with the app. and is found on the tab "Inbox Local Folders". I have three accounts opened and none of them has an mail shown in the Inbox for any of them. The "count" shows I am receiving email and how many, but no emails are displayed in either the list portion of the screen or the message displayed portion. For that, I have to go to the Troubleshoot Mode.
I also tried the Safe Mode and no change happen. Still none displayed.
Are all your accounts POP accounts? Are they accessed from anywhere else, e.g., web mail?
Would you please post a screenshot of your folder pane and message list pane after redacting for privacy?
