Random text in "text field" when trying to compose a message
I have two Gmail accounts and one hotmail account managed by Thunderbird. The hotmail account and one of the Gmail accounts work perfectly, but the other Gmail account has issues. When I open "write" to compose an email the "text!" field has a large amount of what appear to be random characters already in it; these are a light grey and (I suspect this is code of some sort) I can delete them and send a message as normal and it will be received perfectly well. I have compared all the settings that I can find with my other Gmail account and they appear to be the same. The issue has something to do with Thunderbird, since I am able to open it without issue using my browser. I would appreciate any help or information even if it means that I need to delete and then reinstall my Gmail account. Many thanks in advance for your help. Ragards.

Right-click the account in the (left) Folder Pane, Settings, and see if there's anything indicating you have a signature file or image attached to your messages from this account.
Hello sfhowes. Thank you for your reply. Yes I so have a signature file attached. It is the same one as in my other accounts so this is not the answer unfortunately.
