Why did Yahoo Toolbar suddenly start keeping Firefox from loading tonight?

I could not completely load Firefox tonight and finally narrowed down the problem to Yahoo Toolbar. Removing and reinstalling Yahoo Toolbar did not help. Firefox would not load until I disabled or removed Yahoo Toolbar. Everything was fine earlier today. Does anyone know what happened between 6:00 p.m. EDT (when I shut down) and around 9:00 p.m. EDT (when I turned PC back on)? I'm running a Windows 7 laptop with all updates. Thank you.

Yahoo Toolbar shouldn't crap out in just 3 hours. Toolbars can be problematic therefore I never use them. You can try contacting Yahoo or try updating your toolbar to see if that helps the issue. Us here can't do anything to fix Yahoo's Toolbar.

An alternative would be to use Yahoo's own Firefox build customized to suit Yahoo's needs. This comes with the toolbar by default.

I'm already using the Yahoo-optimized version of Firefox. When I removed and reinstalled the toolbar, it installed the latest version; that did not solve the problem. I just reinstalled again today and FF still would not load; I'm now in "safe mode" and need to turn off the extension again. I've been using Yahoo Toolbar for many years and have never had a problem like this before, and I see that I'm not the only one. Something happened yesterday.
