Since updating Firefox from a previous version, the browser no longer displays any Unicode emoji characters. Where an emoji would normally be rendered (👁️), the browser instead displays empty space. Websites such as twitter and discord, which use their own artwork for emoji, are unaffected. This has negatively affected my browsing experience.
For illustrative purposes, I will add a series of emoji and include a screenshot of how they are displayed: (😀🙁😡💀). Other characters still display correctly: (β❖♞䷲⎈𐘢𓀺இ). My computer otherwise displays emoji correctly. The issue persists after disabling extensions, and has persisted between computer restarts.
I'm running Linux (NixOS) and Firefox version 148. I've tested on Chrome based browsers and they work fine. Tested on Firefox forks and they also don't display correctly. This is new since less than a week ago.

I am asked toOpen Firefox on my mobile device. Then Go to the menu and tap sign in. That’s where I am. Now I’m asked to tap “ready to scan” and hold my phone over the code. Unfortunately, my Firefox app does not show a ready to scan option after I get to sign in. Help!!

I first installed Video Download Helper several weeks ago and it worked fine. However, since the update of 04 March, 2026, it no longer works with YouTube. (It does, however, still work with Instagram.) Having checked all of the settings (which I had/have not changed), I uninstalled it today and then re-installed it. This hasn't helped. With YouTube, the Downloader icon (pinned to toolbar) simply remains grey and does not show any videos when opened. I am using the latest, fully updated version of Firefox with Windows 10.
Can anyone help, please?

Getting a clean slate is nice, but it takes too much time loading. So I would like to not unload the content of the panel when I close it, just hide it, so when I click to open is already loaded. For the most time I would like to use panel once or twice a day to ask some question to continue on conversation in some chat but whenever I close the AI chat-bot panel it resets its context and throws me onto the default page of the provider of my choosing. I have to click my way into the proper chat every time. Could a chat-bot panel keep its context or keep it session at the place where I left it?

I need to get online to download the few pieces of software I need That are still out there. But like most sites they examine your machine to see what versions you need and it's a download and install package. So I can't use a different PC.
My question is: Is there a version of Firefox I can download that will work on XP, and not be ignored like is done to IE 8. And that I can then transfer to the XP (service pack 3) box for installation?

The advantage of Firefox is its flexibility. It supports its own SOCKS proxy settings, independent of systems-wide ones. Unfortunately, it seems this Firefox feature is broken on macOS (but Windows version works perfectly).
Safari 26.3 (21623.2.7.11.6) and DuckDuckGo 1.177.0 (625) web-browsers that use system-wide macOS SOCKS proxy settings also works fine with this intranet proxy server. So it seems SOCKS proxy server itself is OK, and the problem is confined to Firefox on macOS.
Has anyone seen Firefox 147 on macOS work via SOCKS proxy? Is there a principal difference between how Firefox handles SOCKS proxy on macOS vs. Windows? What might be the best way to address the problem on macOS?

Hello Folks: after having the 'invisible' band across the top of each page, it was advised I reset : was fine saved all bookmarks before hand etc. Now, I am having to log into my usual apps each time: eg. the Library, the duck.ai, the Fitness app etc. Was this a result of the reset: wondering if the duckduckgo Privacy Essentials extension and the FF reset (refresh?) in now in conflict: I am not a greenhorn but definitely not an advanced techy so laylman's terms please THANK you for your help with this.

Suddenly today when I tried to use facebook, already logged in, I got the message "Account Temporarily Unavailable. Your account is currently unavailable due to a site issue. We expect this to be resolved shortly. Please try again in a few minutes." Yet facebook works fine on Safari and Chrome.
I cleared my settings, except cookies, turned off extensions and restarted firefox which did not help.
