firefox updates keep getting blocked

i keep getting a "firefox update was blocked" notice.

something has blocked firefox from updating

i've checked as much as i am capable of to no avail.

under help/about i notice that i am running the most current version but still get these failed updates. i am running 5.0.1

whenever i get this notice, i reload firefox just because and still get these notices.

i am running Trend PC Cillan. i have no proxy settings.

again it has happened... i have manually installed FF 6.0. Let's see if it makes a difference...
