Help! Firefox will not save my history. I've tried everything.

Hello, Firefox will not save my history. It says it is disabled and I can not figure out how to change it. I also use other browsers on my system and they all save history so it is not a problem with system preferences.

This can be a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.
