Why does my post have to wait for a moderator?

redacted

After click, Ask a question, a banner pops up saying my post is awaiting approval by a moderator. Why? What did I do or say that appeared so negative as to require approval first? IMO, it takes time for a Mod to mod it. Then it goes out for some people to see. It's not good for business if there is no wait time, and it a waste of time, if the problem asked, has a answer in a holding pattern, that goes in to a holding pattern again if/when the Post is permitted. Very odd..

This community forum does get a lot of spam attempts both as new threads and as replies. Initially it would only flag replies however the OP of threads is now monitored by the bot since early last June due to spam.

If the replies has non Mozilla links that is not whitelisted or email, phone numbers or perhaps just a usual pattern similar to what has been marked as spam before then the SumoBot may flag it.

Your post here https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1587270#answer-1825261 has two things that can cause it to be flagged. The first was the @ riverplazatravel .com and its also possible the ......... may have been a trigger as three or more periods can trigger a reply being flagged though this glitch may actually be fixed now.

Before April 14, 2020 this support.mozilla.org site used to use its own account system since as early as 2006? and not Mozilla Accounts (formerly called Firefox Accounts). People almost always created their new SUMO account at same time they went about posting a new thread as you could not reply to an existing thread unless you had an existing sumo account. As a result spam was less common and almost always as new threads and not as replies so spam was usually easy to catch.

This flagging is needed as many spammers may post a innocent looking reply and then later edit in spam links for example.

Short answer is we need this form of thread/replies flagging in the last six years even though it can occasionally flag an innocent post.

That is not my post, I was responding by quoting the part I was referring to - like this.

That is inside the quote I made to the OP. The OP included the link and I don't like to remove another's content if possible.

Three dots is usually indicating missing words in a quote, showing a trailing thought or hesitation, signaling an intentional pause, or representing silence. Huston - Tbird has a problem in a library.

IMO, it has become the norm. It is what it is, and the winners are the spammers, hackers, shysters, scammers, phishers... we pay, in many ways, to avoid being trapped by the dark side of the Information Highway. Information highway, once a beautiful walk or ride along the Highway. Now it is so cluttered with billboards and bad actors that we need strong armour for protection, and a keen eye for the traps. Were it not for MalwareBytes I would have given up a long time ago.

Thanks Malwarebytes.
