I cannot see any new email messages. Thunderbird only show mail form ten years ago.

I have recently installed Thunderbird. I have imported the .pst from outlook. I cannot see any email sent recently. Email display Window only shows mail messages from ten years ago. When I select get messages it states no new messages to download What do I need to do to fix this ?
