I need to export my thunderbird account over to outlook.com. I'm hoping to just sign into outlook.com and add my current thunderbird email details for j.childs@mhslimited.net.

When trying to add this as a POP or IMAP I get an authentication error once applying the incoming/outgoing server and port details.

Can you please help with what details I need to do the above.

My Thunderbird 128.12.0esr (64-bit) was working fine. It no longer displays any messages except the latest ones. They are filtered, they disappear into their folders, I can only see them directly on the email server. I also have version 140.3.0esr (64-bit), but it asks me to create my accounts from scratch. (Mozilla Thunderbird Flatpak en-USthunderbird-flatpak - 1.0 release notes).

Recently I have noticed some changes in the way my Thunderbird downloads POP3 messages. Previously, it would be common to ask for new messages once a day and receive upwards of one hundred of them. But in the last month, this number has been limited to about 35 at a time. If I ask immediately again, I get about 35 more, and this pattern continues as long as there are messages in queue waiting to be downloaded. I am not sure if this is due to changes in gmail, where most of my received messages originate, or to changes in Thunderbird itself, or to some sort of third-party hack. Now that I have trained myself to keep on asking until there are no more messages coming down, this change does not cause me much difficulty, although initially it sometimes caused me to overlook messages because I failed to keep asking as long as I should have. Apart from that, it does not seem to be harmful as far as I can tell. I'd just like to know if other people have noticed anything similar, and if anyone knows what is causing it, and whether it has some hidden advantages over the way things used to work.

I use Thunderbird for my WOW email. Today it stopped working (incoming) I even changed my password on WOW and have logged into my email at WOW with the new password. Thunderbird says Login to server smtp.mail.wowway.com has failed. Then asked me to enter a password. I did all that and it still has the error.

new issue

So starting this morning, new email shows up on the server, but not in Thunderbird. Clicking on the get e-mail link shows it checking, but it doesn't load new mail into T… (மேலும் படிக்க)

So starting this morning, new email shows up on the server, but not in Thunderbird. Clicking on the get e-mail link shows it checking, but it doesn't load new mail into Thunderbird. It appears to be on the server, but not putting it into Thunderbird. Spectrum was in the process of changing the website where we get mail, but it appeared to be okay yesterday. Any ideas? Thanks

cleared Tbird inbox, closed Tbird sent a test message from outside email upon Tbird startup, the initial msg at lower left says: contacting host...then "no new messages" Tbird icon in the taskbar shows a red dot with a "1" click Get Messages icon at upper left, and you see at the lower left "downloading message 1 of 1"

since installing Tbird on Win11 this behavior has been consistent, the initial message at lower left always says there are "no new messages"

I have had my usa.net account use the same IMAP settings forever; I double-checked my settings and they are correct.

Now, I get a LOT of email on that account -- I typically download it when I hit 10K messages. This usually isn't a problem.

I tried moving all of my current Inbox (already in TBird) to my archives. I was then able to download about 1K messages and then it stalled downloading. Said I either didn't have write access to the disk or had a file permission. I'm not seeing anything on the web interface for usa.net on this.

Now, I have 3 other IMAP accounts on T-bird -- 1 is never used (default from my ISP), a 2nd is very light traffic (mostly I stick with that email provider because they are small and still have private shell accounts) and the 3rd is my business vanity domain--high traffic but not the same as usa.net (where I get ALL my receipts for any online purchases, daily newsletters, help forums, etc).

Any idea what may be going on? Please be kind; I am not a programmer, just a more tech-savvy than the average bear (as in if IT is busy at work people ask me for regular stuff).

If any more info/filedump stuff is needed to see what's going on, please do let me know and I will tag it up asap.

Unable to download messages on my email provider to my Thunderbird inbox

When I try to download messages from Proton’s inbox, I get this message: “Thunderbird. The current operation on ‘Inbox’ did not succeed. The mail server for account lois… (மேலும் படிக்க)

When I try to download messages from Proton’s inbox, I get this message: “Thunderbird. The current operation on ‘Inbox’ did not succeed. The mail server for account loiscodling@proton.me responded: no such mailbox.. .”

If I access the account directly through Firefox, the inbox is visible with a large number of files in it. Mail in all the other folders on Proton has downloaded correctly to Thunderbird, but not the inbox.

let me tell you that I have a few hundred email filters defined, and they (almost all) work fine.

There are three filters that cause problems, and it looks like the problem sticks to the sender.

Let me expand: FAZ, REWE, and Campact cause problems. Two out of three emails from these senders can't be moved to the target folders. I get a pop-up messeage telling me that I have to repair the folder. I do so, and a few days later the same problem comes up. Just for these three senders.

I searched all folders for filters for these three and removed all filters I could find.

Then I created a new folder as a child to the inbox folder, and a new folder inside of this folder to hold emails from FAZ. I defined a new filter rule, as the old ones were removed. Worked for a few emails, and, voila, the message pop-up came again, telling me there are problems moving the email over to the (new) target folder.

Let me repeat: all other filters work fine, just emails from these three senders cause problems.

Any idea where I could have a look, a switch to check?

One last information/idea: all three have different email addresses they send from, I will check the ones that do not work, maybe there is a clue.

I am using POP3/SMTP, not IMAP.

Hoping for a tipp, a clue, an idea -
