How do i prevent unwanted shortcuts from populating my home page?

I recently changed to Firefox as my default web browser. I cannot prevent shortcuts from populating the browser when I visit sites. The sites add their shortcut no matter what.

I tried changing "settings > home" to not save shortcuts, which works. But even if I PIN those shortcuts I want to keep, they still get deleted. How do I fix this?

Hi,

First, welcome to Firefox!

Unfortunately, I'm afraid there's no easy way to keep only pinned shortcuts. As you mentioned, disabling shortcuts completely will just remove them all. One thing you can try is making sure all the empty tiles are filled with pinned shortcuts (so that there's no free space for new ones). Note that you can also adjust the number of shortcut rows.

Probably not the answer you wanted, but I hope it will help.
