Hi Bob, there's a setting that directly most new windows to a new tab instead. That's the first thing to check, even though there are still occasional exceptions to this setting.

On the Settings page, General panel, scroll down a bit to the Tabs section and make sure there is a check-mark for "Open links in tabs instead of new windows". Does that help?

I have a test page to try to distinguish the different ways that pages can launch a new window. Can you tell me which ones go to a new tab and which ones open a new window for you?
