i have an aol account. where in TB is the control that determines whether or not email is deleted from the aol server when i delete it from inbox in TB? thanks.

This setting is under 'server settings' for the account. After clicking 'account settings this link is in left sidebar.
i see server settings but which item on that page?
Is the account POP or IMAP?
