Iwant to delete no lonber used websites from list offered when I open firefox. How can do tha t.

If you look for this, you will notice that many, many versions ago, the menu item changed to Settings instead of Options.

That is not possible on the Settings page in Firefox. You need to open the Firefox Home / new tab page itself to modify individual items. Please refer to the previously linked article: Customize items on your Firefox New Tab page.
