Need to remove something a site tricked me into

I went to the site mojs.io (this used to host a popular JS library) it gave me some popup near the area where the padlock is, I guess to get me to install a certificate or something. I accidentally did so. It might of even done it right next to the padlock with a little popup near the "i" with the circle around it.

I can't find what it installed :(

Apparently, now its allowing the site to redirect me to other pages easily now? Not sure what else it can do :(

I checked all my FF settings. Can someone please tell me how to find this? And fix it?

Refresh should solve this for you.

The Refresh feature (called "Reset" in older Firefox versions) can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your bookmarks, history, passwords, cookies, and other essential information.

Note: When you use this feature, you will lose any extensions, toolbar customizations, and some preferences. See the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article for more information.

To Refresh Firefox:

  1. Open the Troubleshooting Information page using one of these methods:
    • Click the menu button New Fx Menu, click help Help-29 and select Troubleshooting Information. A new tab containing your troubleshooting information should open.
    • If you're unable to access the Help menu, type about:support in your address bar to bring up the Troubleshooting Information page.
  2. At the top right corner of the page, you should see a button that says "Refresh Firefox" ("Reset Firefox" in older Firefox versions). Click on it.
  3. Firefox will close. After the refresh process is completed, Firefox will show a window with the information that is imported.
  4. Click Finish and Firefox will reopen.

Thank you.

If you're not ready to Refresh:

One possible culprit would be an extension. You can view, disable, and often remove unwanted or unknown extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a (Mac: Command+Shift+a)
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
  • type or paste about:addons in the address bar and press Enter/Return

In the left column of the Add-ons page, click Extensions.

Then cast a critical eye over the list on the right side. Any extensions Firefox installs for built-in features are hidden from this page, so everything listed here is your choice (and your responsibility) to manage. Anything suspicious or that you just do not remember installing or why? If in doubt, disable (or remove).

Any improvement?

I had checked the addons, but didnt see anything.

"widevine content decryption module" by google, watns to update soon, so unless it came in as that

I guess I'll have to do a refresh, but didn't want to have to setup my extensions, settings, etc all over again, but it may be the safest thing to do.

pers0n மூலமாக திருத்தப்பட்டது

Widevine is for DRM, and probably wouldn't be triggered on a random site, just Netflix or Amazon Prime Video.

You mentioned that you have extensions. Do you recognize and trust all of them? If you're not sure, do you want to share your list? You can copy/paste it from the Troubleshooting Information page. Either:

  • "3-bar" menu button > "?" Help > Troubleshooting Information
  • (menu bar) Help > Troubleshooting Information
  • type or paste about:support in the address bar and press Enter

Scroll down past "Application Basics" and "Firefox Features" to "Extensions". Then you can select and copy the table that follows (not the entire page, please, that's too much information) using either Ctrl+c or right-click > Copy and then paste it into a reply. It will be messy, but we're used it.

I ended up just doing the refresh. Thanks for all the suggestions. :)
