I receive emails right away, but when I send, they take forever
When I try to send an email it is as if it is hanging for along time before it finally sends. I have no problems receiving them, the come right away. Sometimes it takes a couple of minutes before the emails send.

If you are using IMAP, make sure to properly set the "Place a copy in:" option under Copies & Folders in Thunderbird to either unticked, or to the local folder using "Other:". Since sent messages will be managed by most servers and hence be accessible by Thunderbird anyway, leaving the first option checked may cause additional traffic, slowness, (sometimes) duplicate messages and be a waste of disk space.
