each time I press preferences either on the main drup-down menu or the right side menu, the preference box comes up blank

the details are as listed in th question. Both on the drop down menu under Firefox, as well s the side menu on the upper right, the preference box apperas, but it is blank. Please help.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
