Firefox unable to resolve proxy when network changes between VPN and non-VPN

I have to switch between "Use system settings" and "Auto detect" options when I change the network between VPN and non-VPN (VPN disconnected). This is really a big problem for me and making me to switch to Chrome. Please resolve this issue or let me know if there is a workaround.

How about when you restart Firefox after switching the "network"?

Yes, restarting resolves proxy. But, it isn't a solution for me. Thanks,
