Recently emails that I have deleted have been reappearing in my Inbox. Has it been fixed yet, or how can I fix it?

For approximately one month or more, emails that I have deleted have been reappearing in my Inbox. Emptying my Trash folders seems to help, but not always, and can be inconvenient. Has this problem been identified by other users? if so, has it been fixed by Mozilla yet? If not, how can I fix it myself?

delete mail reappearing (not downloading again) is an indication of a corrupt folder. This usually occurs if you do not compact on a regular basis.

Move all good emails out of Inbox into suitable fodlers for organising. Note that the Inbox should ideally be used as an Inbox and not a general store. Delete all unwanted emails.

When Inbox is empty, right click on Inbox folder and select 'compact'. then empty the Junk fodler and compact that folder. then empty the 'Deleted' / 'Trashg' folder.
