Dear Mozilla Support Team,

we are using email groups for different tasks, eg. IT@x-spex.de . To automatically sort all emails having IT@x-spex.de either as sender or recipient I defined a filter to sort those emails into a subfolder (i.e. "29_IT"). When I write an email with identity "IT@x-spex.de" (which sets from: to IT@x-spex.de) the message is stored in drafts folder regularly. Unfortunately, it just blinks in the folder and is immediataly move to the 29_IT folder. Thus, when writting on an email for sometime, a number of intermediate copies pile up in the 29_IT folder. How can I stop this stupid behaviour?

It's an IMAP-Account. The filters are defined to work on the inbox ("Posteingang" in german).

Thank you for you help.

best regards, Raymond

P.S.: I have another IMAP account with the same provider (1und1, Germany), that is configured identically concerning email groups (having matching filter and group definition). But this account works fine.

As far as I know, Thunderbird's filters operate ONLY on the Inbox. Indeed users occasionally express frustration at this, since there are situations where it would be handy to have filters on other folders. There is an add-on, for instance, to run filters on the Sent folder, presumably so that replies can be filed alongside the original message to which they respond.

I use a 1&1/gmx account myself, and I've never seen it do strange things.

Sure you don't have any server-side filtering in place?
