and erything was working gin until just recently, I have this issue all over again! I cannot afford to keep paying people to fix this all the time is this issue keeps popping up! Now I cannot received or send any outgoing mail!! THE MESSAGE SAYS:

SEND MESSAGE ERROR, SENDING OF THE MESSAGE FAILED THE MESSAGE COULD NOT BE SENT BECAUSE THE CONNECTING TO THE OUTGOING SERVER (SMPT) stmp.mail.yahoo.com failed. I've read a number of posts regarding using Mail Store Home to enable the transfer of mail from a PST file to TB. I was under the impression that the archive within MSH could be run against a stand-alone PST file (that is, Outlook is not installed). When I select Archive Email as per instructions on other posts, and specify the location of the PST file and then run, I get an error: "This feature requires Microsoft Outlook XP/2003 or higher". Does it require Outlook to be installed, or am I doing something wrong? Also I am a bit unclear of the run sequence with MSH - do I run Archive Email followed by Export Email and what is the connection between the two? Refer to image attached. Thanks.

Hi, my thunderbird account has suddenly stopped downloading emails, and comes up with the message "Unable to write the email to the mailbox. Make sure the file system allows you write privileges, and you have enough disc space to copy the mailbox." I have tried deleting lots of emails, and clearing the deleted folder and clearing the cashae, but it does not make any difference. Any help would be appreciated, as i have limited knowlege of computers. Thanks Peter

I was using Thunderbird for Windows 10 normally for many months. Recently, whenever I launch the app it immediately freezes, and I have to force quit the application. Reinstalling the app does not fix the issue. I haven't tried deleting my profiles yet, but I would like to avoid that if possible.

Whenever I search, I always prefer the "Show results as a list," presentation but the view shown is always the one with the stats and I have to then click "show results as a list." Is there a way to have that screen come up initially so I don't always have to request it?

Thunderbird 128.x Breaks My UserChrome.css Tweaks for Message List and Folder List

Is there some way that I can nullify the format changes in the v128.x message list, compared to v115.x, so that my UserChrome.css tweaks that are functioning well in v115… (மேலும் படிக்க)

Is there some way that I can nullify the format changes in the v128.x message list, compared to v115.x, so that my UserChrome.css tweaks that are functioning well in v115.x are not broken? Perhaps there are some new Config flags that might be set? I hate to have to redo a bunch of carefully calibrated work.

Sample of v115.15.0 message list included; I uninstalled v128, so I can't easily show a sample of that.

My name is Maria. I have been using Thunderbird for a while now and have recently run into some issues. The app interface is broken and I can no longer see the graphic design/proper email layout. There is also the issue that it appears my email is forwarding the emails I receive back to my email, rather than getting mail directly from the sender. I have attached an image below so you can see what I mean.

I have tried updating and restarting both the app and my computer, going so far as to remove and reinstall Thunderbird, but nothing has helped. Please let me know what I can do! I am wondering if I somehow changed the code on my end? I have no idea.

This is a problem I have from time to time. I am currently using TB 128.2, but have had it in prior versions from before 115. I had the problem in win10, though now I am using win11pro current version.

I search an item based on a text stream, in this case: "tree planting works in the fall," and the results are found, but I can't open it. I then click show results as a list and it says no messages found. This is a message I archived. If I go to my saved local archive I can find and open the message. So the search was useful in that I was led to the message, but what's up with search? Is there an operation like compaction that I need to run to get search reoriented?

I have attached screen shots of the original find and the show results as a list.

I have 4 email account using Thunderbird. These are all domain imap email accounts. They work via the web hosting mail (Yahoo/Turbify). I can access many different ways: Outlook on my iPhone and iPads, Thunderbird on my desktop Mac Pro. There was some sort of tech issue at Turbify where all 4 account are hosted but all email was restored and password were reset.

However, only one account jeff@jeffmunk.com no longer work on Thunderbird, perhaps the most import one. I checked both the imap settings and smtp setting and the authentication and recommended ports and I still can't get that one account to work - but only on Thunderbird. It works retrieving from mail from Yahoo and Outlook, both phone apps or a browser on the desktop. I think I has this issue once before.

Hello, I'm on the point of reinstalling MS Windows on my laptop and as part of the process I backed up Thunderbird to a USB stick using your instructions "Moving Thunderbird Data to a new computer".

I have four email addresses, one I've used for probably 15+ years, another for 8 years, and two more recent additions. In copying the data to the USB stick, there are two Trash transfers taking significant time, one for 70%, the other for 6%.

I've looked for the Trash folders on my laptop but can't locate them. I have empty Deleted folders (I'm in the UK so perhaps that's just a terminology difference). Obviously I don't want to have these Trash folders transferred into a fresh copy of Thunderbird after the Windows reinstall.

So my question is how do I delete these Trash folders before I copy the Thunderbird data to the USB stick, and how do I prevent them reoccurring?

Grateful for any help with my problem.

Hi,

I have experienced a worrying problem since a few days on Thunderbird client (Windows).

I recently received anonymous emails on my ISP mailbox. The sender has been disguised with display name of some of my recent recipients, but the sender is not visible when I open the message. The mail subject is also taken up from these recent emails. Each of these emails contains one of my personal family photos! These suspicious messages are only visible on Thunderbird 128.2.0esr (64 bits) Windows and not on web mail in a browser nor on the mail client of my smartphone!

Inspection of the message source in Thunderbird does not show the email header... but only the binary code of the image that has been included as an attachment.

It appears these incoming messages were modified locally in Thunderbird because I can see the original and valid emails from the senders in a web browser or from my smartphone. I suspect a malware is corrupting some inbox messages in Thunderbird. Norton did not detect any malware on my PC. Malwarebytes has quarantined a few PUPs/MUPs.

Only one of my mailboxes is affected by this problem. Is there any known vulnerability in Thunderbird similar to this report? How can I block this kind of alteration of incoming mail?

Seems to say that TB displays [a message that had been downloaded] not by reading it from folder in computer, instead by reading it from sever. If something different is meant, then please clarify.

Hello, I still have not gotten my answer on how to fix my outgoing emails with Thunderbird, I do not know how to configure it, I have tried many times watching YouTube vidoes, and nothing works!

I need over the telephone assistance or I will have to pay again to get it fixed, and now it has happened all over again. Also, there is a so-called Mozilla Thunderbird customer service phone number, which I do not know whether it is legitimate or a fraudulent phone number, it is (817) 406-3036. As far as I know there is no customer service number on your site, so this make me wary.
