Problem: Cannot clear history from Firefix Started with Menu and clear recent history. Looked everyplace there was information about history. Tried removing individual entries. Ran Malwarebytes. Dell XPS 8960 with Windows 11 less than one year old. No response with any steps I take. Also, there are no error messages. I am unable to clear history no matter which tools I use. No error messages. All the suggestions I tried had no effect. Used Troubleshoot Mode in Firefox. 

Oddly, I tried my older Dell Inspiron 3650, with Windows 10, and clear history works like it should.

Used Troubleshoot Mode in Firefox. So far, all the advice goes down the same path; history, clean recent history, manage history, etc.. Tried refreshing and today I deleted Firefox app and reloaded. No improvement. Results same with Verify Integrity > Task: checkIntegrity - Unable to fix corruption, places.sqlite will be replaced on next startup > Task: checkCoherence - The task queue was cleared by an error in another task. > Task: expire - The task queue was cleared by an error in another task. > Task: vacuum - The task queue was cleared by an error in another task. > Task: stats - The task queue was cleared by an error in another task. > Task: _refreshUI - The task queue was cleared by an error in another task. I use the same laptop at two locations. I have different printers at each (both HP, one a laser the other an inkjet).

Most of my time is at location 1. Typically I can print without a problem. Recently in Firefox ONLY I have been unable to print at location 2.

Scenario:

  1. I print to the laser printer at location 1. No problem.
  2. I go to location 2 and choose to print - the print dialog appears with a "spinner" and it does not go away.

I have to cancel using Esc. I am unable to print at all from Firefox. Typically if I close Firefox after that, it looks closes but is still shown as running in Task Manager.

Other programs such as Word and other browsers bring up a dialog box showing that "the printer cannot be contacted" and allows cancellation. At this point I can choose the local inkjet printer and all is well.

I'm sure someone will have answered this somewhere but is there a way to backup and restore the native Mozilla Tab Groups. I've seen plenty of people recommend other Group Tab extensions but I like the inbuilt one combined with Containers.

I've read that you can backup the whole Mozilla profile folder and this should work but I've tried that and failed, I used a few extensions to backup sessions and that also failed.

Any help would be appreciated.

For the third month in a row every, EVERY!!!, password I have saved to my Firefox browser have disappeared. Poof, GONE! For as long as I've used Firefox, 10-15 years, it had never happened before September of 25 Some of these password, prior to September, I'd had for years. Yes, I know I should change them over time, but I haven't. How do i recover them? I'm really Pi---d off. Help!

I’m getting this error for some reason, and I can’t figure it out. I’ve tried downloading various support files for different codecs, yet I still can’t play videos on websites or live videos like YouTube livestreams.

I’ve tried reinstalling the browser, VLC, and updating the media drivers, but it still doesn’t help. The same videos run fine in other browsers like Edge, but for some reason, they won’t play in Firefox.
