Got new phone. Attendant change my Google PW. It got screwed up. I now have new Google PW and it works fine but Tbird doesn't work. Keep getting the sign below (300 or 400 times Pop UP) see attached. or Panda virus has corrupted it.?? Everything in Tbird works but email. NO comments no note nothing except these annoying useless signs. Fortunately Gmail works. but it is awful. Found a Tbird phone # but just to talk is $100. IF I can get it to work again it would be worth 100 donation. Long time Tbird user (never had a Tbird PW (about 10-15 years)? HELP

For the last 2.5 months, the quick filter function has been painfully slow, taking up to a few minutes to deliver all of the results. We were on v128, but read that this was a known issue, to be fixed in release 131(?). We just upgraded to 139.0.2 and the issue is still present. We have ~12K messages and we're running Win64 on a Surface Pro 10.

Should we downgrade? If so, which version?

When I highlight/select an email message and then switch the sort option from Date to From, the same email is no longer highlighted and selected. The highlighting changes to a softer color and I have to select the email message again. The message selected should still be selected when switching the sort option.

Whenever an email is read, it disappears(is permanently deleted) as soon as you leave that account. But the message is still on the server if we log in via Webmail. There must be some setting in TB that I haven't located. But if we delete the message, it gets moved to the Trash folder as would be expected. Had created the 4th account in an attempt to remedy this but no luck!

Now trying 139.0.2 on a old laptop the subfolders are not mixed in the root anymore, but when opening TB, the subfolders are only partially listed. The listing changes every time.

TB then creates/downloads the missing ones/the subfolder structure but then leaves them all displayed as open/uncollapsed, which is a massive folder tree to navigate down. Takes ages and is a total pita.

We could even live with being able to collapse all the folders in one action, but there is no command for that.

I read elsewhere it may be a problem with OAuth so changed to app password, no difference.

Maybe it's the very large quantity of subfolders...

I note that the profile folder is the same size when TB is opened or closed....indicates that TB has the folders downloaded but needs to sync to display them?? No idea really.

But, we've been avoiding updating for a year and a half, need a solution or another client.

The email system was working perfect;y for my 2 Comcast.net email accounts. I needed to change one of the passwords. Now for this account, all I get is the message "Login to Server Imap.Comcast.Net with username [my email address] Failed".

Sometimes, when I enter the password, Thunderbird accepts it and loads any new emails...but within a few seconds, I get the failure message again.

I have rebooted my Dell desktop several times with no luck. I have also discussed this with Comcast support who tell me that the Thunderbird system needs to be optimized...whatever that is.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

I love Thunderbird, I think it is an excellent product all round, but one thing that really, really niggles me is that it continually marks certain senders as junk.

I receive Emails from these senders all the time, and often miss Emails because Thunderbird has marked them as junk, and moved them to the Junk folder, which means I don't see them on my mobile devices (IMAP).

I've marked this sender as "Not Junk" at least a thousand times. Each time it accepts my tag, and moves the Email back to the Inbox. However, that doesn't last, as the next Email, or the one after, or the one after that, ends up in Junk again.

I've seen a few posts that protest - this is not Thunderbird's fault, it's your Email provider, but I've already crossed that one off the list as I have white listed the entire domain at the Email provider. So nothing is getting flagged from the Email provider, to hint that it might be junk.

I'm always on the latest version of Thunderbird, and I have adaptive junk filter logging enabled, but it is completely empty of any logs. I also have "Do not automatically mark mail as junk if the sender is in "collected addresses" & "personal address book". I have a number of entries from this domain in the personal address book, as well as *.@domain-name.com, though I'm not sure if that format is correct to capture the entire domain.

Any help on this matter, gratefully received.

I am a long-time user of Thunderbird and have relied on the calendar application extensively. I recently had to purchase a new computer and had to install updated software for everything including Thunderbird. The calendar is giving me fits... When the computer is turned off, I lose all records of previous meetings as well as all scheduled meetings in the future (as well as any scheduled recurring meetings) along with the links to the online meetings. I assume that I have a problem in my settings but I don't know where to begin... I have looked for other similar problems on line and most seem to be associated with sync-ing with other calendar applications - but I don' use other calendar applications and don't sync with any other applications.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Tried all suggestions on re connecting thunderbird to gmail with no success. The new authorisation used by google is not working. I have thunderbird installed on Linux mint. Since i cannot use thunderbird i have moved to Evolution email client which has no problem at all connecting to gmail.
