Hi Guys, I wonder if you can help . I have had Monzilla Thunderbird App for some while , primarily used for email, and access to my email account with Microsoft and has always been a bit of a pain to say the least. That I fear is because it was never set up properly by myself in the first place.

However, at the moment I can't receive any email from my PC ......."bards@btconnect.com " unless I sign in via a webpage. However, access via my smartphone using supplied Outlook email app, no problem.

So I am hopeful that you guys can help me sort out my PC access once and for all.

The current problem has arisen after receiving a forced donation / subscription page from Mozilla having made my donation I still do not have access to my email and folders.

Brief history: i. Originally PC access to account via Monzilla working fine, (donations made at intervals to Monzilla). ii. Microsoft then changed security systems and servers and with current setup at the time I couldn't get access to email incoming or outgoing ( problem with Imap / PoP3 servers). iii. Fix provided by Monzilla with new account denoted as .... bards@btconnect.com (OWL) whatever OWL stands for I do not know, (annual subscription required). iv. Even with the use of this get around , I still had problems sending mail this I believe was a problem down to default passwords and old server settings. (confliction between default settings and original account settings and use of OWL ? ). v. As mentioned above the current problem has arisen after receiving a forced donation / subscription page from Mozilla having made my donation I still do not have access to my email. problem with server settings again. Don't know what's going on ? and I am thoroughly confused and would appreciate some help getting things back on track. Compacting folders loses all email content from inbox

Thumderbird asked if it could compact folders. Said yes. Now all that shows is the title line for all emails in inbox, but NO content displayed.

Can still see content in emails that are in other folders, seems to be only inbox that will not show content of the emails

New emails arriving will show content as well as some old old emails in inbox

Somehow I was running an unsupported ver 129 on a Win 10 system, not sure how. I was getting a warning message at startup. I decided to install the latest supported ver 128. I did that over the ver I was running and did not save, export or rename anything. Just one install over the other. I have lost my calendar that I spent months building. Did I lose it? Any possibility it is still around hiding somewhere? Help please, but I am prepared for the worst for being hasty in my decision. Cheers, TR

My COX email was transferred to Yahoo a few months ago. I followed the procedure outlined by COX and changed over to Thunderbird as I had used before. Everything worked great until the morning of August 18. I cannot receive or send email. I have tried contacting Yahoo who will not help me unless I subscribe to their Premium Technology package. I would really like to talk with someone from Thunderbird but have not found any help. HELP I cannot receive or send email

I am using Mac OS Ventura 13.6.9. I have been a Thunderbird user for many years. Since this last update, I have started having issues where not all emails are displaying. Seems like most recent emails open correctly, but when I get to emails that are a day or 2 old, I get the the following banner across the top of the screen when the email opens, but can't open the remainder of the email.

I have attached a screenshot to show what I am seeing.

I am using gmail and I can access the emails in gmail, but not in Thunderbird. What is the fix for this?

Not sure if this is Thunderbird or Windows 11. I use to be able to go to a web page in a browser and share it via "Send to Mail" Extension. It would open my default email program and a new email with the URL of the page I'm on already in the message area of the new email. It is not working now, likely since I upgraded to Win 11.I've been to the Default Apps settings and set all mail extensions to Thunderbird and the problem remains. It doesn't matter what browser I use, I've tried 3 different ones. My default browser is Firefox and it is up to date. I've tried other Mail To extensions in all the browsers and none work. When I try to do this, I see a message that says opening Default Mail Handler, then nothing happens, nothing opens. All I can do is copy the URL of the page I want to send and paste it into a new email I've opened by manually opening Thunderbird.

Suggestion are appreciated.

I copied the Hostname and Port from the information displayed on the 'External Access' page of the original email host. I checked and rechecked the email address and password and it keeps saying it can't connect to the server.
