Hello sir, I have a new PC so I used mozbackup to backup old thunderbird whit .pvc file. after i completed to setup my PC windows system and install thunderbird into new PC. my old email setting and mail can't be restore back. it is still asked me to input new account after i used Mozback to restore .pvc file succesfully. can you show to me how to have my old email back, thanks. I have recently updated Thunderbird and Lightning and now lost being able to use the Calendar Tweaks add-on. I want to change the background colour for the today entry on the month view which used to be done by that add-on. I want to be able to set this and other items to my own specific colours. How do I achieve this?

I have used Thunderbird for years without issue. In the last 2 days, it keeps crashing on one of my laptops (fine on the other). I sent a crash report, but I can't reopen Thunderbird. I tried both quitting and restarting. I shut down my computer and restarted it. I tried updating by downloading the latest version, but that didn't work either. I completely uninstalled it, reinstalled it, and it worked for a few hours. Now, it is back to the Crash Report.

Any suggestions? I love TB and don't want to switch to something else.

I've been using Mozilla for at least a decade now, but this feature is driving me crazy. I hope I can find an easy solution, otherwise..... can someone recommend a different email server?

‘I have gmail as my default email client with Thunderbird and am unable to add my att.net account to Thunderbird. Thunderbird acknowledges a green message that the configuration is found in Mozilla ISP database for Thunderbird. When I click on "done" I get the yellow warning "Unable to log in at server. Probably wrong configuration, username or password". "Configuration was automatic setup as: incoming at POP 3 inbound att.net and outgoing SMTP outbound att.net. I have tried manual configuration and checked password to no avail. My att user ID has not changed in 20+ years and has always been my email address at att.net. I would like to add that I had a att.net account with Thunderbird until I did a Thunderbird recommended upgrade and then lost the att account including all my emails. Is there any way to recover this account?

A few weeks ago after an automatic update I ended up having Thunderbird version 131.0.1 installed, I have no idea how this happened. On opening I get a message telling me I shouldn't be using a beta version and that I should revert to the latest general release version (128.4)

Today when I had some free time I downloaded 128.4 and installed it. On opening it it says that I can't use a profile file from a later version with the earlier version. Is there a way to recover from this WITHOUT having to set up the whole profile again from scratch.

Meanwhile I have done a system restore so I am back with 131.0.1 It has not given me any problems so far. Is there a new general release version imminent that will get me back on track?

I would appreciate any help I am not a computer expert, just a user, and find Thunderbird a very good email client.

I have Thunderbird v. 102.15.1 installed. I do not want to update to v. 115.16.2. I have set HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Mozilla\Thunderbird\DisableAppUpdate = 1. This worked for several months. However yesterday when I turned my computer on, I found that Thunderbird had updated to v. 115.16.2. After a great deal of fruitless attempts to downdate it again, I finally restored all of my C: drive from a backup I'd fortunately made just the day before. That worked and brought back v. 102.

However when I turned my computer on this morning, I found that once again Thunderbird had updated to v. 115. When I go to Menu > Help > About Thunderbird, it shows a window saying "Updates disabled by your system administrator". Yet "disabled" or not, Thunderbird updates itself! (I don't know what "system administrator" means - it's my computer and I'm the "administrator".)

How can I keep Thunderbird from updating without my permission?

Hello, In Thunderbird... Since a recent update (perhaps within the past month), when I delete an email, it takes some time and goes to "not responding" briefly while it waits. This also sometimes seems to happen when sending. But it does NOT happen when receiving messages, so I am doubtful that it is anti-virus related (using only Windows Defender, no 3rd party anti-spam or anti-virus.)

This never happened before the update. Currently using 128.4.1esr (32-bit), but that update was just this morning and it was happening prior to that.

Any thoughts?

It is annoying that the message Delete button in the Inbox is not in a fixed position. It moves when one selects a set of emails to delete and fewer selection buttons appear. When in a hurry, I have hit Archive instead of Delete because the location moves, wasting my time to redo what I wanted.

Please FIX the location of the Delete button so it stays in one place across functionality in the Inbox--a UX improvement!

Dear ,

we send a note as i handle average day, some 1000 emails in thunderbird.

for handling this , we use thunderbird last 10 years, where as the mail toolbar is:

previous - next - (delete ) - (junk )

In all versions up to 2023 , we would install above 4 (four ) settings on one line after each other.

In the new version from 2024 , the settings between: ( ) , are no longer in the main possibilies, but

we must use these settings on the line under; which takes far more time than all on one line.

Is it possible to have the ( ) settings, in the next new version , back again , like before ??

Problems with connection to SMTP server since upgrade to Thunderbird 128.4

I have Thunderbird connected to a number of providers including hotmail and OVH, all configured for IMAP. OS = Linux Mint

Everything was working fine until I installed the upgrade to 128.4 offered by the Linux Mint update manager.

Since then it takes a very long time to even send a simple email with CPU usage going up to or even over 100% (multi-cores). Even in normal usage with nothing happening Thunderbird is using 25% of the CPU.

The sending process often times out giving a message that says the connection was lost to the SMTP server.

Guten Tag, ich habe soeben eine einmalige Spende überwiesen. Wahrscheinlich hat die Überweisung per Kreditkare funktioniert. Dabei wunderte mich, dass ich, obwohl ich bei meiner Bank die 2-Faktor-Authentifizierung aktiviert habe, meine Banking-Sicherheit-App keine Bestätigung verlangte. Bei andern Überweisungen auf diversen Webseiten funktionierte das stets. Unterstützt Thunderbird Mozilla die 2-Faktor-Identifizierung nicht? Das wäre schade. Und ich habe keine Gefühl dabei.
