In TB 155.01 when I click on Delete the email leaves my Inbox but does not display in the Deleted folder. If I look at Properties in the Deleted folder it shows the correct number of messages in there but the messages themselves do not show in the right hand window. Thus there is no way of seeing what the messages are, just the total quantity in the folder.

I use Thunderbird, download on my PC computers (desktop and laptop) and on my iphone (using apple email set up - not Tbird app). I have noticed the folders are not synced on all three devices. Some are missing. Am I not doing something to sync them?

Hi, Fairly new Thunderbird user here. I've searched the wiki and support articles, but haven't found anything that addresses this problem. Details: I'm running Thunderbird 156.0 on a Mac, running MacOS 27.0, accessing a Microsoft Exchange account using EWS. If I want to move an email, I right-click on it, and have the option to: Move to "Myfolder Foobar" again (last moved-to folder), or Move To: > Recent Destinations > Favorites > my.email.account.com (EWS) > Local Folders

(Note that I can also drag the message to the appropriate spot on the folder tree.)

Of the right-click submenu options: The first, Recent Destinations, appears to show a recent single folder (but not the most-recent one, which appeared on the upper-level menu pick). The second, Favorites, is empty, (and I haven't figured a way to populate this list). The third, my.email, opens up a submenu that allows me to traverse my extensive list of folders in my Exchange account. This does work properly. The fourth, Local Folders, shows my trash folder.

My recent destinations setting is at the default value of 10. I tried changing it to 15 to see if that would jumpstart a change, but no change in operation.

Thanks for reading this far. My questions are: Is this a bug, or am I missing a setting in TB or Exchange which allows me to have the recent list populated with more than one entry? How can I populate the Favorites list? Searching the Settings tab gives no results.

Hi, Hoping I can get some help here, I couldn't find an answer in the search topics.

I have lost a few local subfolders. First the subfolders lost the emails contained in them and then the subfolders themselves disappeared.

I renamed the main folder just removing the year from the folder name and not long after that the above happened.

I have tried the following:

• Searching the help topics • Searching the forum • Closing reopening Thunderbird • I removed .msf files and restarted Thunderbird

I am not sure what I can do now.

Dear T-bird Community Helpers,

      This is my 1st use of any Mozilla mutual help community message board. I'm learning the ropes.

      Re. the OS build: I never use beta anything. I established the folder, that went zero on me, recently (less than 2 weeks ago).  I hadn't yet backed it up onto the cloud or a flash drive or other medium. Was just about to, but thought I'd rename the folder 1st,  9/13.     

      My mistake there, but not in the renaming. Never renamed a T-bird folder before. I had set up Thunderbird the week before 9/13, as a backup to e-mails in my Earthlink WebMail Premium account.      1st as a POP account, then later that week, after checking with a reputable AI interface, I made an IMAP. 

      Today I couldn't find any prior messages in this community board. That I, with my best focus, found relevant to my situation. 

      I try to learn what is involved, first, in decisions between products, accounts, and methods to follow. But I don't have all day. I don't short-shrift research, but I don't have all day.  I relied on an AI bot when I had second thoughts on appropriateness of POP account, and it recommended IMAP account be added. Not substituted for the POP one, though---I asked it about that. too.

      I work hard to learn computer terms but am not deeply skilled with computer stuff.  I cannot generally read between the lines, to infer what sub-step to take to make the next listed step likelier to work. Nor can I understand very unnecessarily complex instructions, so please be feasibly simple in how you instruct me to find a way to restore my local folder. I don't know the exact name it had before. I use spelling tricks to keep folder names short, so there are MANY possibilities for the old name of that folder.

      Your advice, please. I will be grateful for friendly, complete, instructions. Worded simply as is feasible.  And questions 1st, sure, if you need to know more 1st.

I go back to a message that's saved as a draft and often automatically click return rather than clicking edit. I click return and the entire draft message disappears. Please change the code so this doesn't happen! Thank you.

Have recently upgraded to 156.0 and I find that the "Sent" folder in the Unified Folders shows the wrong folders. They are the same as the "Inbox" folder as you can see in the attached photo. What do I need to do to correct this?

What I see When I reply to an email written in classic Outlook for Windows, the quoted Outlook text gets a big gap above and below every single line, and its font changes. This happens as soon as Thunderbird processes such a message again, for example when I view my sent reply, reply to my own reply, forward it, or reopen a saved draft. Thunderbird users who receive my replies should see the same gaps.

Why it happens (as far as I can tell) - Outlook writes every line as its own paragraph and relies on a small style rule that says "no extra space between paragraphs". - Since version 151, Thunderbird puts the quoted email's style rules into a protective container (`@scope`) so they cannot change my own text (bug 1967725). - Thunderbird's own safety filter for HTML emails treats this container as a suspicious rule and deletes it, together with everything inside it. The "no extra space" rule is lost, and the gaps appear. - Older versions such as Thunderbird 140 ESR don't understand the container at all and ignore the rules even in the first reply.

In short: one Thunderbird feature adds the container, another Thunderbird feature removes it again.

How to reproduce (no Outlook needed) The attached test message contains two quotes with the same spacing rule: quote A inside the container, quote B without it. In Thunderbird 155.0.1 quote A shows big gaps, while quote B stays tight.

What would help Keep protecting my own text from the quoted styles, but in a form that Thunderbird's own filter and older email programs don't remove, for example by limiting the quoted rules to the quote with an ordinary class name instead of `@scope`.

Technical pointers - Filter: pref `mail.html_sanitize.drop_conditional_css` (default true); `NoConditionalRules` in `stylesheet.rs` rejects `CssRule::Scope`. - Container: `QuoteSanitizer.sys.mjs` (Phase 2), called from `MsgComposeCommands.js`. - Tested with Thunderbird 155.0.1 on Windows 11.

The sorting of the Recent Destinations menu has changed and is now no longer usable. It is not sorted by most recent or any other obvious order. It now takes me more time to scan through the list to find what I want when it used to be a very useful/quick tool. Anyone else notice this new issue? Thanks!

Hey Guys,

My Left click to open links from my emails has stopped working. I have to right click and select Open Link. I have tried everything, tried going through some of the config editor options i saw people mention for this issue and its all set to True already. There is no data besides PDF under the settings / attachments section. So cant change anything there. I tried a new profile, no go. I did a full uninstall and delete profile and started again, still same issue.

Left click to open links for everything else on my computer like firefox etc. Just cant open links through thunderbird. It used to work, it seems to have stopped around the same time as the latest update but i cant be sure about that. Only stopped working the last few days,

I've been using Thunderbird for a few months now and it has mostly worked well. Then this afternoon I was reading my mail in the Unified Inbox and I noticed something very odd. I had a number of emails showing in the header list with the same "From" and various subject lines. On the face of it, that wouldn't describe any weird behavior except that I noticed the subject lines absolutely didn't match the "From" information.

As I would go to read these emails, the email itself would be correct in the preview pane -- including showing the correct sender name and email -- but the "From" information in the header list pane would still be wrong.

I'm sorry that I can't post a screenshot to make this more clear because there is just too much personal information on screen. But these emails are from several different senders, received by several different email accounts. Everything is correct except that the "From" shown in the header pane is wrong. This is very obvious to me because I normally run entirely in the Unified Inbox with the emails sorted by the "From" information

One example is an email that is actually from "U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs <do-not-reply@notifications.va.gov>" which Thunderbird displays correctly in the preview pane (where I usually read my emails) and if I open the email itself, but the header pane says this email is From "Prepper-co <joshua@prepper-co.com>"

Another example is an email that is actually from "USPS Customer Support <uspscustomersupport@usps.gov>" but the header pane says it is from "Rainier Arms <sales@rainierarms.com" < p></sales@rainierarms.com">

These two examples were received in different email accounts that aren't even on the same server. I have other emails from these same senders that are shown correctly

I found this problem while using 150.0 (64-bit), which said 150.0.1 was available, so I restarted Thunderbird and it updated to 150.0.1 (64-bit) but the problem is the same.

I have a POP3 account which will not download new emails. The indication is there are no new emails. I can access the email account through gmail and there are many new emails. I have checked password. I have gone through the re-indexing procedure and all other possible solutions I could find. I did find some information about Java and incidentally, there was a Java update on the day my emails began to fail, 8-16-2026. I found this error message, but I don't know how or if I can fix this: module is not a constructor ExtensionCommon.sys.mjs:1679:15

I belong to a group which need to receive a report to the whole group on a regular basis. How do I do this? The Mozilla instructions don't seem to apply to Firebird and have instructions which don't work on Firefox version 115.18.0

This morning, my email Inbox is empty. I use Thunderbird for four email accounts, and three of them are fine, but the fourth one has an empty Inbox this morning. I didn't (intentionally, anyway) move the emails anywhere, and they do appear to be in the All Mail folder, so I didn't lose them entirely. But I keep my emails mostly in my Inbox and they aren't there anymore.

Any ideas what happened to make them disappear and how I can get them back to the Inbox?

In checking my email, I clicked on one that was from "Progressive" which is a valid correspondent but upon opening, it was from United Airlines, which is also a valid correspondent for me. I closed out Thunderbird and reopened but this did not resolve the issue. Is anyone else experiencing this issue?
