In the playstroe there are 2 FF versions that can access about:config. FF beta and FF nightly. If either of these browsers are manually configured through about:config for DOH are they as secure as the desktop or is there any issues?

DOH has not been built or tested for Firefox for Android so I cannot give a definite answer at this time. You are using it at your own risk.
