after 15 seconds TB self deletes emails that I have left (to keep) above the emails that I chose to delete
working in descending order, I leave any number of emails at the top to keep, if I delete any number of emails below them the emails that I left at the top that I want to keep, Thunderbird will self delete them after 15 seconds of me deleting the ones I wanted to delete. Every once in a while Thunderbird will delete more messages below the point of where I stopped deleting the ones I want to delete. This is a brand-new computer with a fresh install and I have been using Thunderbird for more than 10 years. all the settings not to delete emails are properly checked. to make matters worse than the birth self deletes those emails they are gone forever. Even from the server. It started happening on my older computer six months ago. The only thing I transferred over were my contacts to the new computer. I have eight mail accounts. I am running IMAP through a hosting company and IMAP through Gmail. the deletion does not happen with the IMAP Gmail accounts. The hosting company has never had this issue and I've been with them for 10 years or more. please help I also many important files.

I would guess your hosting company has a limit on how long they will keep mail on the server. IT is not uncommon, neither is them emptying the trash / deleted for you.
I suggest you approach them about any email aging they undertake.
