How do I move a message found after a search, since it is a new window/folder

After last Thunderbird update, it now does searches in a new tab/folder, and you no longer can drag and drop your emails into an established folder after a search. I have been organizing my emails in this fashion, but now cannot do it this way. Anyone else have this problem, or a solution?

There's been no recent change in the search tools. You're probably talking about Global Search.

In the search result window, look for a button or link that says something like "show emails as list" (I can't remember the precise wording.) This will show your found messages in a more conventional Thunderbird window where you can select one or more messages and use right-click and "move to".

I haven't tried this, but if you select the messages that you want to move, you may be able to move them onto another account by dragging to a tab, waiting there for it to open and then onto the required folder. It might get a bit sticky if the required folder isn't in sight. This is one of my greatest reservations about tabs; they don't lend themselves easily to the use of drag-and-drop operations.

You can still make use of the original search method by use of ctr+shift+f.
