Why do my emails send from the second email addresses added?

I have added a second email address to my Thunderbird, removed this account and now all my emails are going to the second account rather than to my email address! Also when I send an email it says myname(othername@theemail.com) - help!

re :I have added a second email address to my Thunderbird, Did you create another mail account for the new email address or did you add it as another identity to the first mail account ?

re :removed this account What account ? did you add a second mail account and then immediately deleted it ?
