When i start the app, I would like a password prompt before the email window opens. Currently, the app opens and my inbox is displayed... then i'm prompted to enter the master password.

Not going to happen. It does not work that way. For one, the master password is only to protect your saved passwords and not email already downloaded.

Use the security of your operating system for what you want to do.
