can't send out messages, say stmp not able to recognize my email address

I can receive email but can't reply or send. It keeps saying stmp problem. Not sure what that means. Please don't be to technical, I'm and old guy. Thanks for any help you can send.

Please post this info:

In thunderbird Help > Troubleshooting Information Do not select 'include account name' Click on 'Copy text to clipboard' button

In this question in this forum: Right click in a Reply' box and select 'Paste' You can edit/remove all the info on Fonts and Printers, but nothing else.

Then tell us the exact error message ...word for word.
