Keep download history until close but not browsing history

I've set Firefox to not save my browsing history. But because the option to save browsing history includes download history as well, it doesn't save my download history either. I'd like my download history available during my session. How can I accomplish this?

Maybe use Private Browsing mode if you currently have disabled the history or instead use "Clear history when Firefox closes" to clear the history.

Thanks for replying. Private browsing doesn't save either type of history, so it wouldn't make a difference.

I don't want my browsing history available when Firefox is open. I sometimes leave the browser open for days at a time if I haven't turned my computer off.

PB node keeps the download history for that specific PB mode session. Clicking "Show All Downloads" opens the about:downloads page in a tab instead of the Download folder in the Downloads Manager (Library).

I don't see how that's related to my question. If you aren't saving download history, there's nothing on that page.

So enable the history and run Firefox in PB mode.

Private browsing doesn't keep download history though.

NONE OF THE ABOVE SOLVES MY PROBLEM. AGAIN, THOUGH I DO NOT ACTIVATE THE FIRST LINE "BROWSING AND DOWNLOAD HISTORY", MY DOWNLOADS ARE NEVERTHELESS DELETED.
