Could be a slow server or some contents (advertisements) on the page are being loaded or reloaded. If you can grab the URL's that appear between the "contacting" messages, that would give us a better idea of what is loading or reloading.

I believe this is because of the advertisements on the page. I also have IE 9 on the system and no such issue with IE. I also tried some more websites with advertisements and everything was fine I mean the tabs were not flashing back and forth. Why this issue is with Hotmail only? I feel Microsoft is doing it purposely. :)

Yeah, I see the same on the Hotmail site for quite some time now. I assume that some of the scripts that run aren't fully compatible with Firefox (Firefox 3.6.x has that problem as well) and MS need to fix that.

Hotmail barely works at all in Firefox, I am so sick of it now I'm thinking of going back to IE or Google. In Firefox it 'flashes' when I try to open an e-mail, like it's trying to connect but can't; or it gets stuck on that annoying little hand; the message goes white & I cannot click on anything. I have to constantly reload the page - like 20-30 times in an evening - to make it do anything. Hey are there any Firefox employees / techie people who ever read these forums? If so, you know there are a LOT of people who use Hotmail; it would be good it it could actually WORK in Firefox.....

Not sure it's the right place, I'm from France and Firefox is my main browser but, but, but... there's always a plugin problem when I want to post animated gif in messages, so I just can't (or have to go to Windows' favourite browser: Internet Explorer). Is there (or will be) a solution ?? Easy, not tough and not too technical, because I'm not.
