How to send a message to an address book list as "bcc", not as "to"?
Because this topic is closed : https://support.mozilla.org/fr/questions/1014970
Here's another way to do it : Just install this add-on : https://addons.mozilla.org/fr/thunderbird/addon/use-bcc-instead/
On thunderbird 38, the screenshot seems incorrect. You must go to 'Options' in your e-mail menu and select the last item 'Change destination mode' -> BCC. (This text is translated from french so it may be a bit different).

Good idea to mention the addon. But, just to make sure users are not confused. You do not have to use the addon as this function is already available automatically in the standard Thunderbird.
The best method of using Mailing lists is to do this via the 'Mail Toolbar' 'Write' button. If you read the Article on 'How to create and use Mailing lists', you will see there are two methods available and each produces different results.
Open a new write message (not from the 'Address Book') Make sure the Contacts Sidebar is enabled. View > Select 'contacts sidebar' or toggle the view using f9 key
select the address book select the name of the 'Mailing list' click on 'Addto Bcc'
