I use a local .html file as my home page in FieFox. There is no problem setting it to be used by the "homepage" icon on the toolbar, the little house. But now, unlike for years, I can not set it to be opened when I click the + to create a new tab. How can I work around this conflict with my long established patterns?

In my Settings, I have only shortcuts to web sites I've visited. For a long time, that's all I've had. Since yesterday I suddenly have a bunch of stupid suggested news stories and articles that I have NO interest in. No matter how many of them I say I want to block, more come up. There's nothing in the Settings that allows me to turn them off.

I DON'T WANT THIS CRAP ON MY HOME PAGE!!!!!!

I have no idea who came up with this idea and thought it was good, but I will be forced to move to a different browser if this crap continues to appear on my home page. This has completely violated my trust in Firefox to be an unobtrusive, privacy focused browser.

I'll say it again for those in the back... I ONLY WANT THE SHORTCUTS TO MY VISITED SITES NOT A BUNCH OF STUPID RECOMMENDATIONS!!!

The news keeps coming halfway up on my screen when I turn on Firefox. I have (under customize your homepage) turned off "Show news and interests" and "Trending on Bing". I have also tried refreshing Firefox and a couple of other things. What can I do?

I've used Firefox on MacBook Pros since 2009. In the past there were ways to add shortcuts to websites to the Firefox Home Page. That capability is now badly degraded.

I'm running FF 156.0 on macOS Tahoe 26.7 on an M4 MAX MBP-16

Problem #1: The Firefox Homepage in one of the accounts on my MBP has 4 Rows of 6 icons each, for a total of 24. On another account it has 4 rows of 8 icons each for a total of 32. I want to increase the number of shortcut icons to 32 on the page which has 24, but I cannot find a way to do it.

Problem #2: I can't find a way to ADD a shortcut to a website to the Firefox Home Page. I'd done that many times without much difficulty about 4 years ago. (I don't want to do this by editing the name and the URL of an existing Home Page Icon.)

When I open a new tab in the app version of Firefox I would like to be able to directly access my bookmarked sites. Is there a way to make this happen?

Each time I open a new tab, it opens in Firefox, instead of my home page. I have my home page set to DuckDuckGo and have tabs set to open to my home page. Each time I click on a new tab, it goes to Firefox and I have to click on the Home icon.

When I open the start page, I see a number of stories I'd like to read, but once I click on one, and then go back, many of them are gone, and replaced by others, which is frustrating. I know I can right click & choose "open in new tab", but why should I have to do that? Why not just have a setting for that page, that would automatically open those links in a new tab? A simple option would be appreciated.

On another issue, why are so many of the stories I'm seeing today, a week or more old?? I don't get why I"m seeing so many old news, what's up with that?

Summary When typing a multi-word search query in Bulgarian into the center search field on the Firefox New Tab page (about:newtab), the first word disappears immediately after pressing the Space key. The issue occurs only in the in-page search field. Typing exactly the same text in the Firefox address bar works correctly. Steps to reproduce

   1. Open a new tab (about:newtab).
   2. Click inside the center search field.
   3. Switch to the Bulgarian keyboard layout.
   4. Type the first word, for example:   български
   5. Press the Space key.

Actual result The first word disappears completely. The search field becomes empty and the caret remains after one blank space. Typing continues normally from the second word onward. Interestingly, pressing Ctrl+Z immediately restores the missing first word, indicating that Firefox performs an undoable edit operation rather than simply ignoring the input. Expected result The first word should remain in the search field after pressing Space. Additional observations

   • The problem does not occur when typing in the Firefox address bar.
   • The problem does not occur on google.com or in other web page input fields.
   • The problem is reproducible in:
       ◦ Troubleshoot Mode
       ◦ a brand new Firefox profile
   • No third-party extensions are installed (only the built-in OpenH264 codec is present).
   • Setting

browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.showSearch = false removes the in-page search field, therefore the issue disappears because the affected widget is no longer present.

   • Disabling

browser.search.suggest.enabled does not change the behaviour.

   • If the address bar already contains text before clicking into the New Tab search field, the issue may no longer reproduce. This suggests that the bug could be related to focus handling or interaction between the New Tab search widget and the address bar.

Reproducibility Always reproducible on this system. Each time I get my tiles arraigned the way I want them, firefox screws them up, re-arraigning them in ways I don't want, and adding ones I do not want and did not ask to be displayed on a new tab.

And while I'm at it, QUIT re-arraigning things in the settings. I used to be able to find passwords and other settings without having to search for them. All you're doing is arraignment the chairs on the Titanic! Each time I get used to particular settings, you guys come in and decide to screw things up, changing them in ways that few if anyone asked to have changed up. STOP IT!

my browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.topSitesMaxSitesPerRow is set to 8 , but there are still 10 squares under the search bar. is there any way to change this?

I signed into my Firefox on a new computer, but for some reason my widgets are gone. I have checked my settings, and the box "Allow Firefox to improve features, performance, and stability between updates" is checked off. My old computer still has the widgets, so it's not like I turned it off. Any ideas?

I'm having a problem trying to download and save a "back round photo" on my homepage, the "gear icon" is also missing at the bottom right corner of the screen...only the "edit icon" appears and its useless.
