I have copied and pasted files from "old firefox data" to the local directory, i still cant find any of my logins or bookmarks. please help.

You can either copy places.sqlite from the "Old Firefox Data" folder on the desktop to the current profile folder or restore the bookmarks from a compressed .jsonlz4 in the bookmarkbackups folder in the "Old Firefox Data" folder on the desktop.

Bookmarks -> Show All Bookmarks -> Import & Backup -> Restore https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/restore-bookmarks-from-backup-or-move-them

You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.

logins.json and key3.db [v58+]key4.db : These are the password files. Copy Both !
