I'm using Firefox for Android version 152.0.1 (Build #2016167575) on a Galaxy S24 Plus phone running Android 16.
Firefox is set as the default browser. It always opens whenever a task requires a browser. But when I try to open an HTML file by tapping or long pressing it, the dialog window that opens doesn't show Firefox as an option. Screenshot_#1_20260624.jpg
I have checked the settings in "Apps that can open links", all apps there show "In other app" In "Default apps", Firefox is under "Browser app". Screenshot_#2_20260624.jpg
What do I need to do so Firefox is either the default app for HTML files or at least shows up in the "Dialog window"? Screenshot_#1_20260624.jpg
Thank you!

Hello,
I've always used Firefox, and have had whichever Macbook and Android devices I've had synced for years. I recently got a newer phone, had an issue, returned it and got the same model. Since getting the new phone, Firefox not only takes hours to properly sync to be able to even see my Macbook's tabs, but I can't even send myself links from Macbook to my Android phone. Password and bookmark syncing is also spotty. I've tried signing out, made sure these are the only two devices on my account, and I've uninstalled and reinstalled. It's been this way through many updates for both my device and Firefox. I use both devices interchangeablely and it's critical enough to me that I may switch to a different browser. Any help would be appreciated.

0. Make sure Firefox is the default browser of your Android mobile phone. 1. Visit a YouTube video on YouTube.com 2. Click a link provided in the about-section for that video. 3. Link is sent to Firefox Expected outcome: that Ff opens the link Actual : it just stalls, probably due to a security measure taken by Firefox

I don't use 5g even thoygh the phone is capable of it. I don't trust 5g. I know the phone is old enough it doesn't get updates anymore, but I don't like the newer phones (no sd card being one of them).

i'm running firefox 152.0.1 on android 15 running on a samsung s23.
for some reason, firefox insists on downloading text files, instead of displaying them directly. in my experience, firefox used to display text files directly by default.
i checked this on a pc running firefox 115.26.0.esr and was surprised to see the same behaviour. in addition, although i'm able to specify display/download preferences in settings as usual, the option 'open in firefox' doesn't exist for text files...
can anyone tell me why??
