Hello, "desktop view" is very useful, and I use it for LinkedIn because the "mobile mode" is shitty (I guess to make/force people to install the proprietary and closed source LinkedIn app).

I found that "desktop view" is stopping working while activated, when you always keep a tab opened for days... I have to close the tab and open a new one to make "desktop view" working again.

I found too that "open in a new tab" action is not inheriting the view mode of the parent tab and that an issue when browsing the same website.

Could it be possible to have "desktop view" enable by default based on visited website?

I have updated the Firefox to 133.0 (Build #2016056951), hg-24fce2fbde95+GV: 133.0-20241118181856n AS: 133.0. When I open new tab, and open any website, the default is set to "Desktop Mode", how do I reset it to normal default mode?

I enjoy using Firefox for its clarity, security, and overall performance. However, on my Android tablet, switching between tabs can be difficult. I would love to have a tab bar at the top, similar to the desktop version, for easier access to specific tabs. The current swipe gesture to change tabs is useful but doesn't allow me to see all open tabs at a glance. Additionally, I’d appreciate an extension for auto-refreshing tabs and a setting for desktop view, so that when I enable it, all tabs—including future ones—open in desktop mode. However, it should still be possible to switch individual tabs back to mobile view if needed.

Using the latest version of Firefox on Android mobile – Huawei / EMUI 12.0.0.149 Normal browsing, not using Private.

Several tabs are open, all specified to show Desktop view. But when I re-open the browser (while it's still running in the background, e.g. if I'd been using a different app or just hadn't looked at the page in a few mins), pages automatically refresh in Mobile view.

Additionally, the "Desktop site" toggle can get stuck: Shows Desktop being on, but the page is in Mobile view and if the button is tapped again, it just keeps refreshing in Mobile. The whole app has to be restarted to fix it.

Ideally, open tabs would stay in the specified view (Desktop) and not refresh automatically. Bonus, if there were also a master toggle to select the view you prefer all tabs to use.

Choice needed: It's ridiculous that in 2024 in the era of huge screen tablets and phones, we are still knocked back to mobile view again and again and again. If you love mobile view and you love the bigger icons, fine! I'll go get you a juice box and you'll have a great day. But some people don't. I just want default to desktop as an OPTION. Is it so hard to understand?

Hello! I suggest the option in the settings that enables the display of websites in desktop mode by default. This option can be found in Microsoft Edge for Android and iOS as well as in Brave Browser for Android and iOS. When enabled in the settings, the browser will always display websites in full (desktop) mode.

Why does the desktop settings keep changing to mobile. This option should not be allowed to be changed by website developers when they identify your browser as a mobile device. I find mobile view is inferior to desktop view and usually has less information that is on the desktop deals I never use it and I'm constantly having to change it back to desktop view when visiting other pages.

I suggest that fire food / Mozilla make the settings option for desktop a user option that is not changeable by websites.

Have they ever given us an option to make a tab always open in desktop mode? Yeah, I realize everybody doesn't need it and the average person might not want it but there are enough of us though who do that, it should still be an option, hence the word option.

So if they haven't given us the option, is it possible to make them aware that there should be an option to make tabs open always and desktop mode for those of us who choose to do so? Those of us who are too ignorant to know any better won't be using them in the first place or those who have smart enough to realize that there is the option but chooses not to use it well. Guess what? They'll choose not to use it, but please don't restrict my options because you're trying to cater to those who don't want them. In this case more is better.

I have an android tablet, which I use for browsing the internet but firefox always open the websites in mobile pages which is not useful and gives very bad experience

How to Request Desktop Site By Default on all tab in the Firefox Android app? I hate to use 1 more browser for this function. FF have speed, security, block ad and I still have to use 2 browser, why @@.

I cannot use the Firefox efficiently on my Kindle Fire HD 10's without going into Desktop Mode each time. As I use it many times a day, but must start & restart it due to other Kindle limitations, it is a chore and takes a lot of time. I want to be able to start Firefox on my KIndle's in Desktop Mode when I start it each time, rather than having to do it manually several times each day. I am somewhat disabled and cannot easily control my hands (fingers) so it takes a LOT of time to do so manually. This message even took several minutes to type!

By default, pages are in mobile view mode. The desktop mode button doesn't apply to all pages and it is not permanent.

Can you please move this to settings with a permanent desktop mode on/off switch that applies to ALL & future pages?
