Hi 🙂 This is a follow-up to https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1511440.

The problem is this: support.mozilla.org is a site intended for asking support questions, and it is very inconvenient not to be able to use extensions that assist with typing (notably Unicodify and Clippings).

i have 2 suggestions to do:

1) Let the user choose whether to keep extensions enabled (in which case support.mozilla.org is not privileged, the user cannot send "Troubleshooting Information", and there is no security vulnerability), or to send "Troubleshooting Information" (in which case extensions are disabled).

2) Review the design of support.mozilla.org in a way that a subdomain like ffinfos.support.mozilla.org is privileged instead of support.mozilla.org, Firefox sends "Troubleshooting Information" to ffinfos.support.mozilla.org, and extensions are enabled on support.mozilla.org but can never interact with data that Firefox would send to ffinfos.support.mozilla.org.

When uploading a file to attach to another app...the upload window opens up in dark mode. I don't like this and I did not change anything but it happens repeatedly. i have checked all options in settings to make sure the light mode is checked. Why is this happening. i did not change anything. Please advise. Thanks

Firefox recently had an update, and now when I am uploading files, I can't double click to upload selected files. I have to first select the file, and then click the open button.

Before the latest Firefox update, I could simply double click on files to upload. This workflow was much faster.

If I go to about:config, and search for: widget.use-xdg-desktop-portal.file-picker, I can change the value from 0 to 2, and then I can upload files by double clicking. However, then Firefox forgets my last upload location, and always opens in the home folder.

If I set it back to 0, it remembers my last upload location, but I can't double click to open files.

My current Firefox version is 152.0.1. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I came to know about Firefox Widgets but can't see any on Firefox 152 on Windows 11 desktop. The option Allow Firefox to improve features, performance and stability between updates is already checked (Screenshot attached) as suggested by users.

Using the "re-open tab" function on a browser based discord instance changed a bunch of my settings, for one it turned on vertical tabs, added extra side bars to everything, and made every ui element animated. Ive figured out of how turn vertical tabs back off, and while I was writing this, I figured out where to turn off this stupid animated gizmo to select what I actually want, instead of directly bringing up my bookmarks/history. How do I stop a random website from overriding my settings in the future? If discord can do it through incompetence another website can surely do it maliciously and I really dont fancy this happening again. The "best" (and completely unrelated) I've found on how to undo this, let alone prevent it from happening again is pressing esc or f11 because of course everything these days has to drown in AI slop :/

I cannot get into my online accounts, as I have always done for years. After I select the site, the screen looks like it is working, but then a new empty window pops up: the tab says "citi 400 Bad Request" At the top of the empty screen it says: Bad Request. Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand. Size of a request header field exceeds server limit.

I'm suddenly getting repeated/multiple Mozilla Firefox "Browser Alerts", "System Warnings," and "McAfee Critical Virus Alerts" that are wrong and dysfunctional. They pop up every few seconds. They contain "Remove virus now" and "quick scan" buttons, but these only take me to a bright red screen that says:

"Deceptive site ahead Firefox blocked this page because it may trick you into doing something dangerous like installing software or revealing personal information like passwords or credit cards."

These come even though I haven't tried to access any "deceptive sites." I have to x all of them out to clear my screen.

There's obviously a defect in your warning system. How do I stop this?

I am unable to view old payment methods in order to delete them. When I go to Settings, Passwords and Autofill, Payment Methods, Manage Payment Methods, I can only add new methods. The old methods do not show up, i.e. the list is blank. I have many old payment methods that I'd like to delete that show up in drop-down when I click in a credit card number field. I have several saved cards in 152.0.1 (64-bit). When on a payment site the drop-down list shows up as expected, so the extensions.formautofill.creditCards.supportedCountries is correct and working (GB). Also address filling still works, as does saved passwords,

However if I try to "Manage payment methods" the resulting list in "about:preferences#managePayments" is blank. (see image)

I have tried toggling on and off "save & autofill" and restarting, but nothing helps.

Adding a new card works, and the new card appears in the drop-down list on a payment form, but still nothing appears to edit or remove in the settings. How an I edit this list?

PS: I have disabled ALL extensions.

Over the years I've added dozens of additional search engines; periodically I've "archived" lesser used search engines by toggling their visibility (to reduce clutter and speed up my search process), and when an "archived" engine becomes relevant to me again I've simply toggled the engine back to a visible state. However, as of version 152, this functionality appears to have been removed for user-added search engines. Is there a way to restore this functionality?

I've searched here and elsewhere on the web for a workaround, and perused the about:config variables, but have not been able to find anything. The show/hide functionality is still present for builtin search engines, so it seems like there must be some way to restore it for all search engines.

Almost every time there is an update------it screws up something I rely on. In this case, the sites I have saved under the top search bar have now disappeared. Why?????? And how do I get them back.

I readily admit that I am technically challenged and need clear concise instructions step by step to find them and put them back where I had them. 

Why oh why do the buggers making these changes think anyone is going to like them. Leave things that work well ALONE.

Had an IMPORTANT list of websites that were listed just below the top search bar. They have disappeared, and I need them back where are they and how do I place them back where I had them. Signed, Technically challenger senior that requires step by step instructions, basic skills please :)

In the past, when I would click on a link on my home page, the link would open in a new tab, but I would stay on my home page so that I could look at the opened link later. Now when I click on a link on my home page, it doesn’t open in a new tab, but rather opens the link in the same tab that I was viewing my home page on. I have checked my settings, and everything appears to be how I want it. I believe that the "Open links from apps next to your active tab" is the setting that should accomplish what I want. I do have it checked, and yet it won't open my links in a new tab. How do I get links to open in a new tab?

can't have access to my system account anymore lot of sync can't even download anything anymore even my system just look like new or formatted one please i need much help or assistance to this

Hello, since some months Firefox displays small squares showing a code like the one in the picture. This problem does not present itself in Microsoft Edge or on other computers. What can I do to resolve it? Thanks.
