Dear Firefox Support Team,

Hello, I’m writing to ask for help regarding a serious issue I encountered while trying to install the international version of Firefox.

Since the Chinese edition of Firefox is shutting down soon, I backed up all my data and uninstalled the previous version tonight. I then tried to install the international version of Firefox. However, during the installation process, I ran into a major issue — the installation was extremely slow, and even after waiting for over an hour, it still did not complete.

I’m not sure what’s causing this problem, and I’d really appreciate any support or suggestions you can offer. I truly enjoy using Firefox and value the experience it provides. I sincerely hope I can continue using it without interruptions.

Could you please advise me on what I can do to fix this and successfully install the new version?

Looking forward to your kind assistance.

Best regards, Lily

Since the last Firefox update, my computer's speed has become terrible, every attempt at opening/closing tabs takes absolutely ages. Eventually today I opened Task Manager to see the Firefox is hogging memory hugely, and even got a message suggesting I close Firefox because it was causing my computer to operate slowly. I eventually managed to close it, switched to MS Edge, and everything went back to normal. Anyone have any idea what is happening here?!

Yes, I'm a bit peeved at this because whenever I am stupid enough to close Firefox, I lose all my tabs. And it ain't just a couple tabs.

I was trying to setup 2FA on my Mozilla account on Firefox pc browser (140 version). The process completes without issues with Aegis authenticator app, I download the backup codes and I even get the email confirming the recovery phone number was added. On the Mozilla accounts page 2FA turns to enabled. (I'm on Windows11 with latest Firefox browser version)

However after a simple refresh, it turns back to disabled. I repeated the process and same thing happens. Same even on Firefox Android. What could be the issue here?

Hi, I have a laptop and connected additional monitor. FF works normally until I move the floating video window to another monitor. Then it 'rescales' itself, the floating video changes ratio and can't be in full screen. When I move back to FF and want to make a normal full video (YouTube) I don't see anything because I can see using alt+tab that FF minizes itself to the most smaller window. The full screen youtube video also is just a fraction of the full screen - I can see the scroll bars but there is no way to extend it to full monitor. To reset it I have to switch off FF or alt+tab, then windows+arrow to make other program to occupy for example half the screen and chose FF to feel the rest and then extend and full screen again.

It's only happening with connected monitor that extends my monitor.

I was excited to receive the new Tab Groups feature and am now disappointed that it's not working and I've 'lost' dozens of tabs.

Here's what I did: I created several groups by right-clicking and added tabs to each of the groups. Since it appears that only way to collapse a group is to "save and close group," I closed each group. Now they are all gone. When I right-click to create a new group or "add tab to group," the closed groups are nowhere to be found. Plus, I do not see a "list all tabs icon" on my toolbar to reopen the grouped tabs, which is what [article] says should happen.

Suggestions for making this work?

Since updating to Firefox 141.0 (Win11), I've had issues with performance and on-screen behaviour of dynamic web pages/sites. The problems do not manifest on Chrome, or on a reinstalled version of Fx 140.0.4 on the same computer running at the same time (and with copy of original profile's data files, extensions etc.), they do manifest on a new Firefox 141.0 profile with only one tab open.

The problem happens on dynamic pages (e.g. gmail.com, boardgamearena.com/lobby) but doesn't seem to happen on static pages. Note that this doesn't depend on page elements moving around the visible window (e.g. panels opening and closing).

The manifesting problems:

  • Screen pointer rapidly switching between standard arrow pointer, mouse with index finger (clickable link) and serifed-style insertion bar, even when positioned on a part of the page that is not a link or a text box. Video (MP4, <1MB) showing behaviour at https://imgur.com/a/absjTh4.
  • Browser intermittently fails to respond to browser actions (mouse clicks, keyboard entry)
  • Small increase in browser CPU usage

Problem is worse if general CPU usage (from other applications) is already high - low CPU usage reduces but doesn't eliminate the problem. (Established by changing my BOINC settings and/or snoozing BOINC and observing; I have a gadget that monitors CPU and other resource usage.)

The fact that I can see the problem occurring on Fx 141 but have Fx 140.0.4 working fine at the same time on the same page, suggests that this is a Fx 141 issue. Regular malware scanner and an alternate found no issues.

Happy to do more diagnostic testing if it's helpful.

Hi!

My problem is that I had a synced account, and I had to redownload windows11 to my computer. Naturally, I was logged out. When I logged back in, I had forgotten my password so I made a new one, and once I got in to my account everything was missing. The only password it had was the mozilla one I had just reset and saved. I still have some files in my file explorer but none of them seem to do anything.

What should I do? Is there any way of getting my bookmarks and passwords back?

Thank you.

Hello, I'm experiencing an issue with tab groups in Firefox.

  • I use multiple tab groups in my browser.
  • Normally, if I close the browser (without manually saving the groups), Firefox restores everything exactly as it was when I reopen it including all my tab groups and their current tabs.
  • However, if Firefox crashes while the groups are open, I run into a problem:
 * When I restart Firefox after the crash and try to open my tab groups, all the recent tabs are missing.
 * Instead of restoring the most recent state of the tab groups, Firefox loads an old, manually saved version from the past.
 * Any recent changes to the tab groups are completely lost.

This has happened multiple times now.

    • System Info:**
  • Firefox version: 141.0 (64-bit)
  • OS: Windows 11

I'd appreciate any help or suggestions to prevent this data loss after crashes. Is there a way to make Firefox auto save tab group states more frequently, or restore the most recent session even after a crash?
