Does fireFox still have a list of old releases?

fireFox used to offer older versions of fireFox for download, both to support users and I suspect just as a record. If that list is still around, I haven't been able to find it.

Anyone know where fireFox keeps that info? Or have the experts scrapped that for some reason?

Only Firefox 8.0.* and 3.6.* are currently supported with security updates. Any other versions will be potentially at risk so they do not make them readily available for download on www.mozilla.org or www.mozilla.com

They do archive them on the mirrord releases.mozilla.org (current versions) and the not mirrored ftp.mozilla.org

If you were referring to the page where the previous version is still supported and listed for download then it has not gone any where. You can find it on say www.mozilla.com -> Systems & Languages -> Firefox 3.6.24

And to clear it up, Firefox is the current name of the web browser (used to be called Phoenix then Firebird in past until 0.8) while it is Mozilla that makes it.

Orbit has not worked with Firefox for some time. (at least, not unless you display using the IE engine) The last patch to Orbit was in June, trying to support FF V5. I was trying to find out what version of FF Mozilla was pushing in June 2011, just for my own curiosity.

It looks like that info is not available anywhere anymore.

Firefox 5 was released on 2011-06-21 (scroll down under "Previous Releases"): https://wiki.mozilla.org/Releases#Previous_Releases

On the Orbit forum ( http://forum.orbitdownloader.com/ ), clicking "Search" and entering "Firefox" in the search box, there are pages of results: http://forum.orbitdownloader.com/search.php?search_id=1016813312

Not related to your question, but...

You may need to update some plug-ins. Check your plug-ins and update as necessary:

SafeBrowser: Glancing through the first few threads on the Orbit forum, it looks like if you were willing to spend the effort, and add enough extra plugins and.or extensions, you could get Firefox to work with Orbit until V:7.

Either all the kludger experts gave up at that point, or no one has found a way to defeat Firefox's latest attempt to block Orbit. The only thread I found (so far) that mentions V:8 is someone asking for help, with no reply.

seybernetx:

Orbit simply has not been updated by its developer(s) and will not work with versions beyond Firefox 5. I do not use the product and pointed you in that direction for information. I did not look at all the 16 pages of posts. In some of those forum threads, I did see some suggestions about alternatives to Orbit. Sorry, but it looks like it is time to find another downloader.

I see your point. Orbit is about three times as fast and immensely more reliable than the internal Firefox downloader, and it's free besides. Why on earth would anyone want that?

I mean, really. If the Orbit developers aren't willing to devote at least half of a developer's time to keeping up with FireFox's paperwork demands, who needs it?

PS: "Sorry, but it looks like it is time to find another downloaderbrowser. " Fixed that for you.

PPS: Maybe someone here can save me some time. Does Opera or Chrome handle Orbit correctly? Does anyone know?
