for those unfamiliar with the "secure empty trash" option for macs, it does not allow recovery of deleted items. i've tried reinstalling firefox, but continue to get the following message:

"A copy of Firefox is already open. Only one copy of Firefox can be open at a time." - this message is generated when firefox cannot locate the profile file.
