Help. Help. I have been a very happy Thunderbird user for many years. I have linked my microsoft exchange calendar to thunderbird with the TBSync and Provider for Exchange ActiveSync.

With the upgrade to version 148, those add-ons no longer work.

So I downgraded to 140 ESR and those two add-ons were ok.

But when I tried to link them to my calendar, they would not sync. I received 401 and 403 errors from the automated setups. And the manual setup, asked for my password over and over again. They all worked beautifully before.

Please how can I get them to work again. I do not want to have to shift to outlook.

This happens each time I open up T-Bird. Somtimes it is Yahoo.mail, sometimes it prompts to log onto aol.mail.com.

How can this be stopped?

I know TB used to have a command to search for duplicate messages. Now, after installing the program again, I cannot find this command anymore. Why? Is it me or has it been removed? Thanks.

Today I have experienced a problem downloading new messages, bulk, trash or anything else in my mail server into thunderbird. it requires my primary password and then my regular password. I just set up my primary password so I understand why it is asking for that, but I don't understand why it is also asking for my regular password before I can get access to the mail server that I am using. the regular password was set up on 6/17/24 and until today it was working fine.

I have Thunderbird working well on my desktop. I am trying to add it to my laptop. I am unable to get the setup accepted. the message I get is failure likely caused by wrong name or password. The name and password obviously work on my desk top computer.

I've been trying to move my Thunderbird data (148.0) from a Win10 to a Win11 machine. I've meticulously followed both the methods outlined at http://mzl.la/1ApHiU3. I have copied my original profiles.ini from the ...AppData\Roaming folder to that location on the new machine, then corrected the drive locations in the file (see attached profiles.ini image). (yes, the correct "j4sqsccb.XXXXXXX" folder is copied to the new installation's root: a bulky several-GB)

In order to try to replicate my original computer's admittedly-awkward installation from long ago, I have added the suffix " -p -no-remote" to the desktop icon's Target field. And on startup, the new T-bird does properly show my original profiles in the Select panel - even though I only ever used the one that functioned correctly, identified as 1 in the profiles.ini file (see Choose User Profile image, IDs X'ed-out).

However, on selecting that profile on the Win11 machine, Thunderbird just takes me to the account setup screen, as if it's unable to locate or load the account settings for that profile.

I'm only doing this clunky method of copying-over out of ignorance; I'd be very happy to simplify the mess I'd created decades ago with my original installation. OR if you think I'm better off wiping all evidence of past installations to start from a clean install, I'll be happy to do that. Please let me know if you need additional info I've failed to provide here!

Hi there, it seems I'm suffering from the same problems as others in several countries. I have also not been able to access my gmx.com account via Thunderbird for about a week now. I live in Belgium and use a Proton VPN, in case this is relevant. I can't find how to delete cookies in history, nor any other potential solutions to the problem. I have several emails (personal and business) that I use and have them grouped in Unified inbox. Recently one of those emails showed up as a new folder (just under Trash folder) in bold type. It has with a varying number of emails in it, now 18. When I click on the 'open folder arrow', a subfolder 'Archives' with nothing in it shows up. When I open the email folder a new page appears with the email as a header and underneath 'set up another account', 'import from another program', 'about mozilla thunderbird', and 'resources'. What is happening? How can I get rid of this folder since I can't read any of the emails in it and it is just a duplicate of the folder that already is working find in the inbox? TIA

I have saved relevant e mails to local folders in my Thunderbird account on my Applemac. I opened up Thunderbird on my MacBook and downloaded my Thunderbird account but it did not copy those local folders, merely 1 empty folder. Without these also shown in my Thunderbird account when I am away from home, I cannot see those records. I am struggling to find a solution. Are you able to help please? Alan Dowler

Problem with Thunderbird that I use for mail and news.

I have set TB to start with a Masterpassword and store all other passwords. Since sunday I can't use TB anymore.

When I start it, it asks for the Masterpassword which I enter, then it starts and immediately blocks access to all settings because it asks for the newsreader-server password. I can not normally cancel that passwort request nor stop TB, I have to use Taskmanager to quit TB.

Starting TB with the SHIFT option allows me to start it in base mode - but it STILL asks for the newsreaderpassword and won't allow me to change anything.

How can I get access to TB again?

I am looking for the option to have each email row display ~3-5 lines of preview text directly under the subject line in inbox pane. Without it, it's very difficult to manage the email load.

How do I do that?

hi today thunderbird started showing yahoo popup login and after adding credentials i always get "something went wrong.We could not sign you in. Try again from a different device." Also popup once closed it opens instantly.

i can sign in normally from browser. thunderbird version is 147

is there any fix about this?

I had about 7 accounts in ThunderBird already setup and working. Now when I try to setup another account, it goes through until the screen that wants me to click to Allow ThuderBird to get information from Google. This screen comes as fullscreen with no scrolling bars. And there is no icon that I can click on the screen to Allow information sharing. I am stuck here and cannot add any more accounts to Thunderbird.
